Biography


Waleed Khaled AlShaikh is a Bahraini media professional and academic. Since 2013, he has served as Media Affairs Advisor at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Communication Centre, appointed by Royal Decree No. (16) of 2023. Since 2022, he has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Media, Tourism, and Arts, University of Bahrain.

He holds a Master’s degree in Media (First-Class Honors, 2022) and a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Multimedia (Second-Class Honors, 2007), both from the University of Bahrain. His career spans over 21 years, including roles as Director of Media and Public Relations at the Bahrain Institute for Political Development, Assistant Director of Corporate Communications at Ithmaar Banking Group, producer and presenter for Bahrain Radio and Television, and editor/columnist for Al-Watan newspaper.

He has participated in specialized training courses and workshops locally and internationally, receiving certificates of appreciation for his contributions to conferences and seminars, as well as his volunteer efforts in youth and community work. In recognition of his national contributions, he was awarded the “First-Class Efficiency Medal” by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2017, and the “Ibn Battuta Media Award” by the late HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
