FACULTY BIO

She is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA), 2015. She has a PhD in Applied Linguistics, University of Leicester, UK, 2013; an MA in Applied English Language Studies, University of Bahrain, 2002; a BA in English Language and Education, University of Bahrain, 1995; and a Post Diploma in Academic Practice (PCAP), University of Bahrain, 2015. Dr. Mervat is a member in the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership, University of Bahrain, since 2016. She was a mentor in the Continuous Professional Development Programme, University of Bahrain, 2016; and currently a mentor in the Post Certificate in Academic Practice, University of Bahrain, 2017. Her areas of interest include applied linguistics; theories of writing for EFL learners; teaching English Literature and its applications in language classrooms; and research methodology.
