Biography


An academic with extensive experience in public relations, communication, and social media. Experienced in strategic communication, digital public relations, crisis management, and the uses & effects of artificial intelligence in media.

An associate professor holding a PhD in public relations from Salford University and a higher diploma in academic practice from York St John University. Published several research papers in Social Media Marketing in Banking, Crisis Communication During COVID-19, Digital Public Relations, Use of social media by Government Organizations, and Social Media Strategies in Crisis Management.

Proudly been a jury panel member of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism since 2017. Held senior academic and managerial positions at the University of Bahrain since 2009 as the Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Tourism, and Arts; Director of the Media Center; and Acting Director of Media and University Relations at the University of Bahrain. Recognized with several awards and certificates of appreciation, and has contributed to organizing and participating in academic and community workshops and seminars in and outside the university. Demonstrating active engagement in professional development, Alrashid is a member of professional associations such as the Strategic Planning Association and the Bahraini Journalists Society.

Achievements


  • Participated in the preparation and organization of His Majesty the King's visit to the University of Bahrain as part of the Kingdom's celebrations of the National Day and the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty the King to the throne in 2012.
  • Member of the jury of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism for seven consecutive years, representing the University of Bahrain.
  • Head of the University of Bahrain Media Policy Committee
  • Submitted a proposal to the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research to hold an annual forum for graduate students at the University of Bahrain.
