Workshops for Its Academics to Formulate Learning Outcomes

 

In cooperation with the Academy of Higher Education in
Britain, a number of University of Bahrain (UOB) academics participated in the
intensive training workshop on formulating learning outcomes and implementing
teaching strategies in small and large groups, held by the Unit for Teaching
Excellence and Leadership at UOB, at the E-Learning Center on the University campus
in Sakhir.

The Associate Professor in the English Language Department
at Bahrain Teachers College Dr. Hasan Mohsen Al-Wadi stated: “The workshop aims
to provide faculty members at UOB with the skills to formulate learning
outcomes that can be measured and verified in practice with different
circumstances and situations, and aiming to support the learning and teaching
process for students the University”.

Moreover, Dr. Al-Wadi indicated that the participants number
reached up to 12 professors from various faculties of the University, and that
during this workshop they’ll be able to fulfill the requirements for a Fellowship
Certificate in Academic Practices from the Academy of Higher Education in
Britain. Also, Dr. Al-Wadi said “We aspire to increase the number of
faculty members who have a British Fellowship Certificate, due to its impact on
the level of innovation in teaching and the improvement and development of the
level of professional practice.”.

It should be noted that the Unit for Teaching Excellence and
Leadership at UOB is looking forward to more cooperation with the British
Higher Education Academy and seeks to offer similar programs in the future.
